Hy2B Wasserstoff GmbH opened a first public green hydrogenation on a private bus depot in Hofolding, south of Munich, the Hy2B stated.
The new station is designed to fill 25 trucks and buses a day with up to 30 kg of 350 bar gaseous compressed hydrogen per fill. From middle of September 2023 the company plans to fill 10 fuel cell buses and trucks on a daily bases leading to a throughput of around 300 kg of #hydrogen per day.
#greenhydrogen is delivered with gaseous compressed hydrogen trailers of a capacity of 1.25 tons each at a pressure level of 380 bars; the energy contained in one trailer corresponds to 41.667 kWh, equivalent to more than 650 middle class electric vehicle #batteries.
#hydrogen delivery to the station works by swapping trailers: once one trailer is empty, a new one is delivered, connected and ready to be used in around 10 to 15 minutes. The empty trailer is then towed back to the electrolyzer filling station. This trailer swap concept is the fastest way to deliver #hydrogen without interrupting the station operation and may be the future of #hydrogen bus and truck stations.
Starting mid-September, up to ten MVV buses and the first hydrogen trucks will be refueled there. To ensure a carbon-neutral operation, green hydrogen is dispensed at the filling station, which is produced locally in the HyBayern region.
