Ballard power system announced Mireo Plus H  fuel cell electric passenger train’s first-ever public ride

Powered by Ballard’s advanced heavy-duty fuel cell modules, the hydrogen train of Siemens covered a completely error-free and smooth 110 Km ride between Füssen and Buchloe, in Bavaria. This is the real-life section on which the Mireo H will commence passenger rides in 2024.

Highlights from a week of everyday testing:

• Low noise level, even at 140 km, the maximum full speed permitted at this section.

• Average Hydrogen consumption is 14 kg/100 km.

• Most importantly, Siemens and Transdev – the operator, are very happy with the efficiency.
