Toyota has begun testing a hydrogen-powered commercial vehicle on public roads

Toyota has fitted a hydrogen engine to a HiAce commercial vehicle for a feasibility trial being conducted by operators from the construction and security industries on public roads in Australia, the company said.The trial will run for four months until January 2024 on roads in Melbourne, Australia. 

The test involves a HiAce-based vehicle that has been converted to incorporate a hydrogen engine (running on hydrogen gas).
