Danish and German companies enter into an agreement on green hydrogen

A number of companies from Denmark and Germany are signing a declaration on green hydrogen, which Dansk Industri, Green Power Denmark and the Danish-German Chamber of Commerce have taken the initiative for. Producers in Denmark and buyers in Germany are calling for pipes that can transport hydrogen, and a stronger effort to develop the future market.

With the declaration, the companies on both sides of the border are sending a strong signal to the politicians. By the first half of 2024 at the latest, they should make an investment decision to bury hydrogen pipes. It is necessary if they are to live up to the cooperation agreement between Denmark and Germany from the spring, which aims for the green hydrogen to flow between the countries in 2028.

ThyssenKrupp, BASF, Stadtwerke Flensburg and Uniper are among the German companies that support the declaration. Several of them today use very large amounts of hydrogen in production, which is produced from fossil fuels.
