thyssenkrupp Steel is launching a tender for its hydrogen requirements for CO2-reduced steel production using the direct reduction process, the company announced.
The upcoming tender concerns the supply of renewable hydrogen in accordance with the requirements defined on the basis of the (EU) Renewable Energy Directive and low-carbon hydrogen in accordance with the applicable provisions for reducing CO2 emissions. The annual delivery volume is expected to be 5,600,000 MWh HHV / 143,000 t, starting with a reduced volume in 2028.
