KES and KLM Royal Dutch Airlines successfully tested DHM 090 hydrogen GPU, a collaborative development together with zepp.solutions, on an aircraft at Schiphol Amsterdam Airport, the Dynell GmbH announced. This hydrogen-powered generator set for stationary aircraft features a 50kW Y50 fuel cell system.Zepp also developed the hydrogen storage system storing 16.8 kg of hydrogen. Combined with the 84 kWh onboard battery, the GPU can deliver up to 350 kWh of electrical energy.
This test, part of the EU’s TULIPS – Green Airports program, marks a significant milestone in the push for green aviation technology.
