World première: The first building-integrated hydrogen storage system with heat recovery

The Swiss company eRevo AG revealed the world’s first building-integrated hydrogen storage ecosystem with its ‘Triewald HOME’ pilot project.

Together with GKN Hydrogen, eRevo is the first company in the world to install a building-integrated hydrogen storage system with heat recovery in a Swiss residential building.

The integrated Power-to-X complete system comprises the electrolysis, the hydrogen solid fuel storage, the fuel cell, the heat management including heat recovery, the short-term buffer storage and the Energy Intelligence (EI) control system.

A photovoltaic system with 14 KWp and an air-to-water heat pump, which covers the heating requirements, serve as the energy supplier in the house.

The Triewald HOME system starts with a storage capacity of half a megawatt hour and a continuous output of 6 kilowatts. The system can theoretically supply an average detached house in the Swiss midlands with energy throughout the winter until the beginning of spring. Triewald products thus enable genuine seasonal storage with the green energy generated in summer.

Orders for Switzerland and Liechtenstein are now being accepted. Delivery and installation via our partner network will take approx. 6 to 8 months.
