Spanish government ramps up plan to produce green hydrogen 

The Council of The Ministers, at the proposal of the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge (MITECO), approved  the Royal Decree that updates the National Integrated Energy and Climate Plan (PNIEC 2023-2030), the MITECO announced. 

In particular, the planned targets for green energy and green hydrogen production have been changed according to the plan.

“In 2030, the installation of 76 GW of photovoltaics (with 19 GW of self-consumption), 62 GW of wind power, 22.5 GW of storage and 12 GW of electrolysers to obtain renewable hydrogen is expected», the MITECO stated.
