52 hydrogen buses will reach the streets of the Rostock county by the end of the 2024

Güstrow, a town in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern in north-eastern Germany, opens a new era of public transport in the region, the Solaris Bus & Coach  announced.

15 state-of-the-art, powered by hydrogen fuel cell Solaris Urbino hydrogen vehicles have already rolled out onto the streets of the Rostock County.

When the Güstrow-based public transport operator Rebus Regionalbus Rostock placed an order for 52 of our brand’s hydrogen buses last year, it was crystal clear that these vehicles would change the image of public transport in the region. Now, thanks to the first deliveries, public mobility in much of the region is going green.

By the end of the year, all 52 hydrogen buses, including five articulated models, will reach the streets of the county. As the operator declares, the buses will be powered by locally produced green hydrogen.

A number of guests attended the official presentation of the first delivered hydrogen Solaris buses, including the Parliamentary State Secretary in the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure Daniela Kluckert, the State Secretary at the Ministry of Economic Affairs Ines Jesse, and the District Administrator Sebastian Constien.
