Maier Bros. has begun transporting film equipment in a hydrogen-powered hylane truck

The film equipment rental company Maier Bros. is now using a hydrogen-powered truck from hylane, named Poseidon, to supply film sets. In this way, the company is expanding its fleet and promoting more sustainable film production. Maier Bros., uses the rented hydrogen truck mainly for filming in Berlin, including for a streaming production by Friday Film.

Poseidon is a Hyundai “XCIENT Fuel Cell” vehicle with a range of around 400 kilometers. The hydrogen is stored in seven containers, which are fully refueled in a range of eight to 20 minutes, depending on the temperature. The vehicle was equipped by Schmitz Cargobull with a case including a tail lift and thus meets the requirements of Maier Bros. GmbH. To ensure that the vehicle is supplied with hydrogen, hylane has established a cooperation with various filling station operators. Before handing it over to Maier Bros., DEKRA Automobil GmbH will put the vehicle through its paces. The experts will also carry out a general inspection and safety check for the vehicle.
