bp has made the final investment decision (FID) for the “Lingen Green Hydrogen” project. Supported by funding from the IPCEI (Important Projects of Common European Interest) program, the plant to be built as part of the 100 MW project could produce up to 11,000 tonnes of green hydrogen annually. The plant is to be built next to the bp refinery in Lingen and connected directly to the hydrogen core network. It is planned to be bp’s largest industrial-scale green hydrogen production plant worldwide to date – and the first that the company will fully own and operate.
