KPIT, EKA Mobility and BPCL to deploy a state-of-the-art 9-meter Hydrogen Fuel Cell Bus at Cochin International Airport

In a landmark move towards Kerala’s net-zero ambition, EKA Mobility, a leading electric mobility solutions provider backed by Mitsui & Co., Ltd. (Japan) and VDL Groep (Netherlands), has partnered with KPIT Technologies and Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) to deploy a state-of-the-art 9-meter Hydrogen Fuel Cell Bus at Cochin International Airport (CIAL), Kochi. This first-of-its-kind initiative in Kerala represents a major leap in India’s clean mobility ecosystem, paving the way for the mainstream adoption of hydrogen-powered commercial vehicles.

The 30+ passenger hydrogen fuel cell bus will be deployed at CIAL as part of a Proof of Concept (PoC) project with a three-year operational life.
