The first domestic 100kg on-board liquid hydrogen system “Track 1000”, independently developed by China Aerospace Science and Technology Group Co., Ltd. has completed tests on FAW Jiefang Lantu’s liquid hydrogen fuel cell vehicle “Starlight”, CASC said.
The system demonstrates remarkable performance advantages in the proposed application scenarios, marking a new stage in the development and demonstration of liquid hydrogen heavy-duty trucks.
The test vehicle was equipped with China’s advanced 300 kilowatt liquid hydrogen fuel cell system, which provides new insights for the development of powerful fuel cells for liquid hydrogen systems. The complete operation state of the vehicle’s dynamic process has a hydrogen supply pressure of more than 1.3 megapascal, and the pressure stabilisation ability is safe and reliable. For the first time, a liquid hydrogen filling ‘gun’ was connected to the system, and automatic purging was carried out before filling with liquid hydrogen, the risk of leakage is close to zero, the company claimed.
CASC previously announced the preparation of China’s first standards: ‘Safety Requirements for Liquid Hydrogen System Installed on Vehicles’ and ‘Regulations for Liquid Hydrogen Filling of Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles’.
