PowerCell Secures 2 MW Order for M2Power 250 systems in Maritime Sector

PowerCell has received a groundbreaking first order for its M2Power 250 system from a leading European shipyard valued at SEK 150 million. This milestone marks the first commercial sale of a fully integrated methanol-to-power solution, an innovative technology launched in Q3 2024. This order includes a 2 MW installation of the M2Power 250 systems.

The M2Power 250 system converts methanol into clean electricity to support the vessel’s internal electrical systems. Methanol is emerging as a promising alternative fuel in shipping, helping the maritime industry transition to low-emission energy solutions.

Scheduled for delivery in 2029, the contract covers engineering services and product delivery, strengthening PowerCell’s position at the forefront of next-generation maritime energy solutions.
