The Council of Ministers approved additional measures for a strong and resilient Netherlands. These measures help make the industry more resilient, address a number of bottlenecks in the energy transition and maintain energy availability.
In the field of hydrogen, the government is providing clarity for the long term, to both consumers and producers, the government of Netherlands releases. €2.1 billion is available to stimulate the production of hydrogen. €662 million is available to stimulate the application in industry. The government is opting for a relatively low mandatory amount of renewable hydrogen of 4%. This makes this obligation easier to bear for consumers. In addition, the refining route for green hydrogen is being adjusted so that it becomes more attractive to use green hydrogen in the production of fuels.
