NatPower H completed the hydrogen refuelling of ALBA, the first training vessel of its kind in Europe โ certified by Bureau Veritas and developed by EODev in partnership with the Lycรฉe Maritime Bastia.
The operation took place at Port de Fontvieille with the support of the City of Monaco and the Yacht Club de Monaco, and was carried out in collaboration with Linde Gas Italia, delivering a total of 110 kg of green hydrogen over two days. This enables 10 hours of fully zero-emission navigation and training at sea.
ALBA is a 19.95-meter vessel powered by a hybrid electric-hydrogen propulsion system and designed for fishing and halieutic research training. It stands as a concrete symbol of innovation in sustainable maritime operations โ drastically reducing emissions and noise pollution.
This project reinforces NatPower Hโs commitment to building a global, scalable hydrogen refuelling infrastructure. It follows previous pioneering operations including:
– The Tullio Abbate Elite 27 H Poseidon (worldโs first hydrogen refuelling on a lake) INOCEL
– The BGH Chase Boat (Italyโs first hydrogen marine refuelling, for the 37th Americaโs Cup) Bluegame
– The Monaco Energy Boat Challenge 2024 (refueling of three hydrogen-powered racing boats)
These milestones reflect our mission: accelerating the decarbonization of the maritime sector with practical, real-world hydrogen solutions
