The Energie Schwaben Group will build a total of three electrolyzers, each with a capacity of five megawatts (MW), for the production of green hydrogen in its supply area. A possible expansion is already planned. This is a win for the climate, but also for the municipalities on whose land the plants are being built.
In Allmannshofen, Illertissen, Rohrenfels, and Oberhausen an der Donau, the electrolyzers are expected to supply hydrogen as a climate-neutral energy source starting in 2027, contributing to achieving climate targets.
Schwaben Regenerativ, a wholly owned subsidiary of Energie Schwaben, will implement the projects. The Energie Schwaben Group is investing around eight million euros per plant, with funding from the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs, each with around 3.3 million euros from the Bavarian Electrolyzer Funding Program, covering just over a third of this.
The Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs has awarded nearly €3.3 million in funding each for three electrolyzers that Schwaben Regenerativ, a wholly owned subsidiary of Energie Schwaben, plans to build. The mayors of the respective municipalities are also pleased about this.
