A major milestone during the “Fostering Green Science & Innovation” conference was the inauguration of the Green Hydrogen Hub, located at the Vietnamese-German University (VGU) in Binh Duong.
Developed under a public–private partnership (PPP) with Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, Deutsche Auslandshandelskammern (AHK) and a consortium of international and Vietnamese enterprises, the Hub is envisioned as a national flagship platform for green hydrogen in Vietnam.
It serves three key missions:
Center of Excellence – Training and developing a skilled workforce for the hydrogen sector
Demonstration Hub – Showcasing and testing cutting-edge hydrogen technologies
Business Cluster – Connecting enterprises, researchers, and policymakers across the hydrogen value chain
Dr. Thomas Aulig, Vice President of VGU emphasized “Green Hydrogen is one of the most promising solutions for long-term energy storage for hard-to decarbonizing sectors such as industry and transport.”
By fostering knowledge exchange, training, and collaboration between academia, industry, and government, the Green Hydrogen Hub is laying the foundation for a dynamic hydrogen ecosystem and a sustainable energy future in Vietnam.
