Hopium and Pegase System partner for the creation of Hynesis to supply hydrogen systems for land-based applications and onboard large vessels

Hopium, the French cleantech company aiming to decarbonize heavy transport, announces that it has finalized an agreement with Pegase System, a company specializing in electricity production from natural hydrogen, for the creation of Hynesis, designed to supply stationary hydrogen systems for land-based applications and onboard large vessels.

This new entity, jointly owned 50/50 by Hopium and Pegase System, will address stationary land-based systems (such as backup power solutions for hospitals, electricity generation for data centers, and critical and strategic infrastructure) and systems installed on large vessels over 150 meters in length (container ships and cruise ships, among others), for the production of electricity and/or domestic hot water on board. Fuel cells and fuel cell systems for all other applications, and in particular those for transportation – land, sea (ships under 150 meters), and aeronautical – remain the exclusive domain of Hopium.

As announced, Hynesis will source its fuel cells exclusively from Hopium, and Hopium is committed to prioritizing Hynesis. For its part, Pegase System will contribute its operational expertise to Hynesis, particularly in the design, operation, and maintenance of hydrogen assets.

This alliance marks a new step in Hopium’s diversification strategy, which is now extending its technological know-how beyond heavy mobility to meet the growing needs for energy continuity and low-emission solutions.
