14 New Hydrogen Articulated Buses for Sustainable Mobility in Duisburg

Duisburg Transport Company (DVG) is working with the City of Duisburg to modernize the infrastructure for a future-proof and sustainable public transport system. DVG and the city have already achieved a great deal in recent years.

Fourteen new Solaris Urbino 18 hydrogen articulated buses have arrived at the Unkelstein depot ahead of schedule. Originally, delivery of the vehicles was planned for the end of 2025. Shortly before the start of regular service, Mayor Sören Link and DVG Chief Technology Officer Andreas Gutschek presented the new hydrogen-powered fuel cell buses. Three of the 14 hydrogen articulated buses will feature eye-catching livery and will travel through Duisburg, promoting the International Garden Exhibition Ruhr Area 2027 (IGA) in the city.
