Air Products: Mercedes-Benz LH2Truck covered around 50 000 km with an average hydrogen consumption of 8 kg per 100 km

Over the past year, Air Products was proud to participate in Daimler Truck AG’s Mercedes-Benz GenH2 Liquid Hydrogen Truck customer trials, operating one of the five pilot vehicles for our daily cylinder gas logistics, the Air Products announced in its LinkedIn.

In total, truck covered around 50,000 kilometers, with an average hydrogen consumption of 8 kg per 100 km and a gross vehicle weight of 35 tons.

One of the most remarkable aspects: even the truck-mounted forklift could be recharged while driving, meaning an entire operation, from truck to forklift, ran 100% emission-free.

Throughout the trial, the truck made 70 refueling stops at Air Products liquid hydrogen refueling station in Duisburg, which was installed specifically for this project. The station remains open to all new participants in the ongoing customer trials.
